How do I improve my flexibilty? My dream is to be an ice skater?

starters, want being figure skater not flexibility. can flexible person in world won't mean thing if don't have balance , strength too. also, while flexibility essential @ higher levels, low level skaters it''s not important.

improve flexibility, should stretching every day. make sure warm - go jog, jump rope, or else gets blood pumping. start smaller, gentler stretches, , work way more vigorous ones such splits. it's important never try difficult flexibility maneuvers (such splits) without warming - you'll end injuring yourself. also, remember flexibility comes on time, not on night. take months (possibly years) of stretching able splits (it took me around 2-3 years of daily stretching...but i'm naturally extremely inflexible). don't strain or overdo it, or you'll pull muscle, set more.

stretches do, there plenty of ones on youtube. here some, example:

mean need before start ice skating? if mean more off ice training, there isn't anything, except perhaps beginning work on core strength. wouldn't recommend buying pair of skates - firstly, go few public sessions try out , make sure skating. then, sign lessons , wait maybe few weeks before buy skates. should spend around $100-150 on decent pair of beginner skates, , don't want fork out amount of money if you're going quit within few weeks.

luck! :)

but improve flexibility being able splits.what do?and do before start ice skating training?
