How do I stop my writing from smudging?


lot of writing in notebooks, , i've found keep having annoying problem. whenever turn older page i'll find writing 2 pages have smeared onto 1 little bit, dotting both pages little splotches , streaks of lead, making messy , unappealing. there way prevent happening?
