Self-parking in Manhattan?


i'll staying @ new yorker in midtown weekend next month. without being of nerd , going super detail, i'm concerned leaving car in 1 of valet garages near hotel start , move cars lot can detrimental mine (rotary engines tend flood if don't run them long enough.)

live near boston, , self-parking isn't issue out here last time in nyc remember of parking being valet. there anywhere recommended being both safe , hassle free? indoor preferred. otherwise looks i'll renting car don't have deal headaches.

Peugeot 106 door stuck open?

agree other contributors door stay/check arm not going in properly. however, having replaced 1 on 106 last tuesday, understand how work. if can contort in door stay goes in door, stay should flat , pass between 2 upright cylindrical rollers. should not able see end of stay, supposed hook behind 1 of rollers inside door itself. if rollers aren't upright, need new door stay assembly (about £25 peugeot). if stay no longer hooked behind rollers, rollers ok, may able put end of stay through. bit fiddly (i had when fitting new 1 car), 1 of rollers spring-loaded , has levered (you can manage shortish flat screwdriver , 3 skinned knuckles!) allow hooked tip of door stay pass through. not recommend "heavy friend" leaning on door, bend stay, or damage door. if end replacing stay assembly, have remove door inner trim panel @ roller bit. can give advice on fitting new 1 if needed, have typist's cramp @ moment(!), post again if need more help. luck. the door opened wide ,...
