How do Japanese children learn kanji?

each year, starting first grade, children have set of kanji learn throughout year. not going given them @ once, rather it's learning 1-3 per day. @ end of week there kanji test kanji week. year progresses , move on grade grade, you'll learn more difficult kanji , number learn increases.

in other parts of lessons, such reading-it goes along same pace learning kanji. reading textbooks contain kanji learned year , year before if applies.

teachers write them on board them. explain kakijyun (the order in strokes written), origin of kanji, , different uses , pronunciation.

students have 2 workbooks. 1 fill in blank textbook use take notes while teacher explaining kanji. each page used 1 kanji. looks this: http://yakushimakikori.up.d.seesaa.net/y... (this 1 one use during grade school.) can see, page kanji 音. can see there section trace on practice writing, blank space create own examples of use of word phrase , in sentence. there space writing way pronounced (the kunyomi , onyomi). , there section shows order of strokes , origin of kanji.

workbook blank notebook looks on inside:

students rewrite kanji many times perfect strokes.

grow older, think kanji writing becomes easier because many of more complicated kanji bunch of simpler kanji , simpler strokes put one. once reach point learn of basics it's putting puzzle pieces together.
however, uses can become more complex.

i curious. workbooks, or teacher write them on board them? teacher go on kanji them, or children expected remember them themselves?
