Would you trade in a 2005 Ford Escape for a 2004 Hyundai Elantra?

2005 ford escape xlt purchased last june , has 123,000 miles on it. spent $7k on it. know has rotor problems (steering wheel rumbles when braking on 50mph), has intermittent alternator issues (lights randomly dimmed 50% 2 weeks ago), , transmission isn't smooth (feels nudgy) , randomly jerks when accelerating low speed.

car 2004 hyundai elantra gls 83,000 miles on $5k. around trade in escape. mechanic check out elantra problems.

i'm looking car lowest cost of ownership next year 2 years until can afford brand new car.

Peugeot 106 door stuck open?

agree other contributors door stay/check arm not going in properly. however, having replaced 1 on 106 last tuesday, understand how work. if can contort in door stay goes in door, stay should flat , pass between 2 upright cylindrical rollers. should not able see end of stay, supposed hook behind 1 of rollers inside door itself. if rollers aren't upright, need new door stay assembly (about £25 peugeot). if stay no longer hooked behind rollers, rollers ok, may able put end of stay through. bit fiddly (i had when fitting new 1 car), 1 of rollers spring-loaded , has levered (you can manage shortish flat screwdriver , 3 skinned knuckles!) allow hooked tip of door stay pass through. not recommend "heavy friend" leaning on door, bend stay, or damage door. if end replacing stay assembly, have remove door inner trim panel @ roller bit. can give advice on fitting new 1 if needed, have typist's cramp @ moment(!), post again if need more help. luck. the door opened wide ,...
