How do you prepare for a ice skating comp?


night before, make sure have set out or packed. you'll need:
tights (non-ripped)
skates
dress/outfit
2 copies of music
spare laces
schedule , driving directions (if have never been there before)
guards , soakers
warm-up jacket , gloves
make-up
hairspray, brush, scrunchies, clips, bobby pins, , other hair items you'll need
few snacks , water bottles
money buy souvenirs, if wanted
favorite stuffed animal or item
homework have if missing school
stopwatch time if have time limit
camera, if wanted
else want/need

once packed, take warm bath, , dressed in favorite, comfortable pajamas. go sleep little earlier usual, if skating in morning. set alarm clock around hour hour , half before you'll have leave next day.

when alarm goes off, up. shower if need to, , regular morning routines. have small, healthy breakfast, , don't eat much. better none, don't want feel faint before skating. it's idea have water or juice well. after that, can need or want until around twenty or thirty minutes before have go.

@ time, on outfit wearing while competing if wanted (this can done @ rink well, may little pressed time), , put jacket on over it. not have eat or drink unless absolutely need here until when done skating, don't want ruin dress. should hair (wear up; never leave hair down, unless it's short, @ skating competitions) , make-up now. it's idea still bring along of hair items , make-up along, want touch there.

arrive @ least hour , half before warm-up starts. once @ rink, register, gift bag if giving them out, , relax until have practice ice or group warm-up. can talk other skaters or coaches, watch other programs, explore rink, or through racks of skating items vendors selling.

make of practice time get. don't spend time talking fellow skaters, or working on moves aren't in program, riskier ones. run through program as can. remember , smile, , time using stopwatch if having time limit.

around thirty minutes before go on, depending on need do, start getting ready. use restroom, spray on more hairspray, touch make-up, brush teeth... whatever need! time start stretching.

before going on ice, makes feel best. hold stuffed animal or favorite item if brought one, visualize winning, practice program on ground, talk coach, jump around jitters out; whatever makes feel fine. remember take off warm-up jacket , gloves , take deep breaths. believe you're going win; positive attitude helps!

skate best! , smile practiced, , don't feel rushed. elements best can, , proud of yourself, no matter place take.

remember pick award afterwards if one, , take group picture if required.

after this, may leave or watch other programs, whichever you'd like. if had placings on program, ready exhibition program later in day or after awards ceremony, mean have changed on again.
