What are some common problems on the W211 Mercedes Benz E320/E350?


on ones, sbc pump can pack in prematurely. benz aware of problem , has extended warranty on pump replacing expensive. benz did revert standard braking system (eliminating sbc system) starting 2007 model year w211.

other that, if have 5-speed automatic, can develop leaks it's caused failure of diagnostic plug seals. cheap , relatively easy fix. multiple link front suspension (only on rwd vehicles, not 4matic) has ball joints integrated arms if develop play, have replace whole arm. not big issue on w211 drives price of replacement costs.

every other vehicle on market, it's not perfect overall, w211 chassis solid vehicle. give nod 2007 , newer preferred model because not have sbc braking system , has m272 engine , 7-speed automatic (except on 4matic models continued 5-speed). combination gives more power compared e320 no fuel economy penalty.

Peugeot 106 door stuck open?

agree other contributors door stay/check arm not going in properly. however, having replaced 1 on 106 last tuesday, understand how work. if can contort in door stay goes in door, stay should flat , pass between 2 upright cylindrical rollers. should not able see end of stay, supposed hook behind 1 of rollers inside door itself. if rollers aren't upright, need new door stay assembly (about £25 peugeot). if stay no longer hooked behind rollers, rollers ok, may able put end of stay through. bit fiddly (i had when fitting new 1 car), 1 of rollers spring-loaded , has levered (you can manage shortish flat screwdriver , 3 skinned knuckles!) allow hooked tip of door stay pass through. not recommend "heavy friend" leaning on door, bend stay, or damage door. if end replacing stay assembly, have remove door inner trim panel @ roller bit. can give advice on fitting new 1 if needed, have typist's cramp @ moment(!), post again if need more help. luck. the door opened wide ,...
