How has melting sea ice in the Arctic benefited humans but been a problem for polar bears?


melting sea ice has, in respects, made things easier humans, since has opened possibility of transporting goods across arctic ocean, shortening cargo routes. however, ships taking such route still need watch out ice bergs , other significant ice masses, can damage or destroy ships, , melting of arctic may increase iceberg calving rates of northern glaciers, leading more ice bergs in areas other arctic ocean.

however, since polar bears use ice hunt, retreating ice has increased traveling distance land (where den during winter) ice floes hunt in summer. means polar bears drown in attempt. polar bears stay on land instead, have negative interactions humans, if refrain harming them, species survive, losing access primary summer hunting strategy.
