What other poets would I be likely to enjoy reading if I enjoy reading Auden and Eliot?


if enjoy eliot, should on of ezra pound's poetry. pound can extraordinarily difficult sometimes, start pieces such river merchant's wife or liu ch'e - , see how on other stuff.

has been mentioned, natural successor auden philip larkin - kingsely amis worth considering (and have tried thomas hardy, classic author auden himself owes to)?

robert lowell's life studies has major debt auden / hardy axis; though pays attention other important influences.

straying little further afield, robert graves relatively neglected major poet of twentieth century. alun lewis died young (in wwii) showed signs of dawning mastery, , robert frost (and english shadow edward thomas) other modern poets little appreciated.

canadians have been blasting through mountains , going on or under waterways centuries - george massey tunnel under fraser river being local example. Peugeot 106 door stuck open?

agree other contributors door stay/check arm not going in properly. however, having replaced 1 on 106 last tuesday, understand how work. if can contort in door stay goes in door, stay should flat , pass between 2 upright cylindrical rollers. should not able see end of stay, supposed hook behind 1 of rollers inside door itself. if rollers aren't upright, need new door stay assembly (about £25 peugeot). if stay no longer hooked behind rollers, rollers ok, may able put end of stay through. bit fiddly (i had when fitting new 1 car), 1 of rollers spring-loaded , has levered (you can manage shortish flat screwdriver , 3 skinned knuckles!) allow hooked tip of door stay pass through. not recommend "heavy friend" leaning on door, bend stay, or damage door. if end replacing stay assembly, have remove door inner trim panel @ roller bit. can give advice on fitting new 1 if needed, have typist's cramp @ moment(!), post again if need more help. luck. the door opened wide ,...
