that's not bad salary live in bronx or other outer boroughs, if you're broke in nc on $42k, you'll end in heap of trouble in nyc on $47k. costs more here...rent, utilities, food, insurance, taxes - name it. it's high stress environment. positive don't need car in nyc, if have one, won't have worry costs of that. if plan bring one, cost ton more things gas, insurance, parking (you tickets) , wear , tear (potholes, stop , go traffic, etc.).

is wise move job in bronx take $47k job, when earning $42k chronically broke in nc?
