I disposed of my hard drive and cut the platter with bolt cutters. Would it still be recoverable?
answer no, unless terrorist or , government want it, electromagnetic fields still hold parts of information, if in tact damaged, looking @ hundreds of dollars per gig anyway, usual data recovery software works on physically sound drives...
suggests degaussing platters placing them between neodymium magnets before grinding surfaces, obliterates data hold forever. have done suffient.
myles.
before disposed of computer hard drive, opened , used pair of bolt cutters cut platter in number of areas. didn't cut way through platter though. if steal hard drive bin, data still recoverable?
