Why can't we come up with a plan to turn radioactive waste into an energy-source?


can , 1 built , operated in 60's. it's called liquid fluoride thorium reactor ( lftr ). thorium cycle did not produce weapons grade plutonium air force interested wanted atomic plane. once air force decided atomic plane pointless, military funding lftr cut. nuclear reactor industry not interested because did not use solid core fuel rods can bought manufacturers ( inkjet cartridges of industry ) no further development made.

reason why there radioactive waste reactors can extract 0.5% 0.7% of energy rods, rest being waste. original plans rods remanufactured new rods , in europe carter administration killed reprocessing plant. lftr reprocesses on site using of fuel, there still small amount of waste not need ten years of active cooling in pools followed hundreds of thousands of years of storage, needs stored 300 years.

blasting things sun child imagine, pay billion dollars garbage picked up? , if rocket exploded?

Peugeot 106 door stuck open?

agree other contributors door stay/check arm not going in properly. however, having replaced 1 on 106 last tuesday, understand how work. if can contort in door stay goes in door, stay should flat , pass between 2 upright cylindrical rollers. should not able see end of stay, supposed hook behind 1 of rollers inside door itself. if rollers aren't upright, need new door stay assembly (about £25 peugeot). if stay no longer hooked behind rollers, rollers ok, may able put end of stay through. bit fiddly (i had when fitting new 1 car), 1 of rollers spring-loaded , has levered (you can manage shortish flat screwdriver , 3 skinned knuckles!) allow hooked tip of door stay pass through. not recommend "heavy friend" leaning on door, bend stay, or damage door. if end replacing stay assembly, have remove door inner trim panel @ roller bit. can give advice on fitting new 1 if needed, have typist's cramp @ moment(!), post again if need more help. luck. the door opened wide ,...
