Are Van Duynes and Van Diens the same family?


on links read dutch settlers surname van duyne, , in brackets there stood "(also spelled 'van dien')", presumed (modern) van diens descendants of van duynes decided 'assimilate' surname more easy-to-read version (which still sound same). startled beginning surname van dien, in spite of 'van' prefix, considered dutch, because 'dien' part sounds german or, @ least english, rather dutch.
